Sam & Leyi Actual Day
"We really love a lawn wedding, but don't want the elderly to be sitting in the sun."
Sam & Leyi struck us as people with hearts of gold. While we were touring the venue, there was a twinkle in their eyes when they mentioned the lawn wedding. "It reminds us of Australia." they said. So we were sadden by their news weeks later, when they announced that they have to sacrifice it because the elderlies will not be able to tolerate the heat from the midday sun. The venue has now shifted to a small, but air-conditioned indoor ballroom.
Disheartened by this change, we were however extremely determined to make sure that they have gorgeous photos at the lawn area. And we set to arrange their schedule together, so that we will have time to take some photos of not just the bridal party, but the couple themselves too. We also challenged ourselves to seek out spots that perhaps could pass off as Australia (hopefully?). That spikey plant from the last 2 photos seemed to have done the trick!
As we get more and more enquiries for Actual Day shoots, we received comments along the line of "We really love the way you personalised a couple's shoot" or "I love how you brought out their story". These made us know that we are doing the right things. That by immersing ourselves with our couple, and making their challenges into our challenges, are the little things that we pride ourselves in. And they are the things that made us content and satisfied as we pack up for the day.
